Matt Ford is a San Diego-based writer, educator, and researcher from Detroit. They investigate music, spiritual pragmatism, and embodied epistemologies through writing, archives, and movement. Their work appears in Lambda Literary, WSJ, HuffPost, The Creative Independent, Art Journal, and elsewhere. Matt teaches history and Africana studies at the University of San Diego and English at Grossmont College. They received a BA in cultural anthropology from Vassar and Morehouse Colleges and an MFA in cross-genre writing from UC San Diego. Matt is the founder of 5D Publishing, and their debut novel, The Book of Myles: Rapture in Blue, is forthcoming.
